SWA Magnet

Scott Andersen was a founding member of WYBA as well as an active member of our community who gave a tremendous amount of himself to the youth in town. Our friend Scott unexpectedly passed away in 2010 and we continue to keep his memory and spirit alive through a Scott W. Andersen Memorial Fund.  In Scott's spirit, the fund gives back to our youth and presented scholarship awards to two graduates of Watchung Hills last year. This year, we will hold our second annual Scott W. Andersen Basketball tournament the first weekend of December. In addition, a youth in our program designed Scott W. Andersen car magnets in order to raise funds for the foundation.  The magnets are available through a $5 donation and all proceeds go directly into the fund.  Imagine a town full of cars with Soctt's legacy!  Please continue to support our youth in Scott's name by donating $5 for a car magnet!

You can purchase a magnet by clicking on the forms section on the left side of this homepage and filling out the simple form.  You can also choose to purchase one through the registration process of your child if you have NOT YET PAID for their participation.

Warren Youth Basketball Association Sponsorships

Please be so generous as to sponsor a team with your business or family name.  Your sponsor information will be printed on the back of a recreation team’s uniform.  The cost for a sponsorship is $350.

 CALLING ALL COACHES!!!!!
2011 – 2012 Season
The Warren Youth Need Your Help!
 
The Warren Youth Basketball Association (WYBA) is initiating coaching sign-ups for the 2011 – 2012 basketball season.  Anyone interested in coaching either Travel or Recreation basketball can sign-up by completing the coaches’ sign-up form.
 
The Travel season will start October 24 -29 with try-outs for grades 4 through 8 for both boys and girls.  Registration deadline for any interested coaches is October 8.
 
The Recreation program will start November 1^st for grades 3 through 8 with assessments running November 1 - 5.  The official start to the season will be November 28^th with first games on December 9^th or 10^th. Registration deadline for anyone interested in coaching in our recreation program is Nov 14.
 
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an organization promoting sportsmanship, learning, confidence and teamwork. You can be a part of something special by building the youth of Warren for a better community today and tomorrow.
