Program Overview

The WYBA 1st and 2nd grade Basketball Clinic is the perfect place to introduce your little athletes to the fun and excitement of basketball.

Our clinics offer 45-60 minute sessions focused on basketball fundamentals. Perfect for boys and girls in 1st and 2nd grade who are looking to get into the game.

The Program is to residents & players of Warren, Watchung, Green Brook and Long Hill communities.

Program will be coached by Lou Castellanos, he's been the Head coach of the 7th grade Crusaders and Girls 13u National Team.

  • 20 years of coaching basketball, grades 4th - 12th
  • Stong focus on intensive fundamentals skill work
  • Head girls workout coach for Ridgefield Rec Dept.
"As a workout coach, I emphasize fundamentals. Today's kids want to step on a court and envision themselves being the next Steph Curry or Lebron James. They fail to realize that there were thousands of hours put into their craft without anyone seeing it. 
I see coaches or programs charging high fees to keep players engaged in wknd games without any attention put into skill work. My intent as a coach is to build a foundation using functional drills and interactive play to bring out the best in each player.”

    • Focuses on core fundamentals like dribbling, shooting and passing
    • Infusion of fun games and activities to make learning exciting
    • Social interaction, as basketball is a team sport, providing a setting for you child to develop social skills
    • Open to residents or players in Warren, Watchung, Greenbrook and Long Hill

    • We will be offering two sessions, please register for the session that suits your schedule.  (Do not register for two sessions, only register for one session).
    • Each session will be limited to 25 participants - Register FAST to SECURE your SPOT
    • Registration Fee: $85 (Payment is due at time of Registration)
    • Please bring a basketball (size 5 is best for this age but size 6 will work) and a water bottle with your name on them!

      • Location: Warren Middle School Gymnasiums
      • Timing:  8:00AM – 9:00AM
      • Saturday January 6th through Saturday February 24th
        • (Snow date if needed - final session will be Saturday March 2nd)
    • Session 2
      • Location: Mt. Horeb School Gymnasium
      • Timing:  6:00PM – 7:00PM
      • Thursday January 4th through Thursday February 22nd
        • (Snow date if needed - Final session will be Thursday February 29th)
